    Bronze pab for review

    Hello Everyone,

I am interested in this PAB but I would like your opinions. I am not a great expert and there are so many fakes. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

          Hi Richard,

It is a fine original Wurster in really nice condition. Common PAB, but always nice early quality and good finish.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

            Tom,

Thank you very much for your opinion. I'm glad to see that this badge is a good one. Can you tell me if this PAB was made in tombak?

Regarding the books about the PAB, I know the famous "The German Panzer Assault Badge World War II" by Philippe de Bock. Superb but very expensive. Do you have other books to suggest?

              Richard,
The PAB you have shown is a tombac example. As for a PAB reference book there is nothing that holds a candle to Phils book. Well worth every penny you will spend on it.

                Chet,

Thank you for the confirmation that this PAB is made in tombac.

As for Phil's book, I will buy it. I am sure that I will not regret it.

                          Hi Richard,

Yes, this PAB is made from tombak (brass).

And Yes, Phil's PAB is an excellent reference and worth the money IMO.

                            Hello Tom,

                            Thanks again for your comment.

I will buy this book. Collecting militaria is a great pleasure but it must be done seriously and for that it's necessary to have the best documentation possible. Even if it requires a significant investment, it's never lost and it saves us a lot of disappointments when for lack of information we come across a copy that was believed authentic.
