I agree, looks like a standard early buntmetal piece. It may have a tiny stress fracture by the rivet (normal) and the hinge pin looks a bit worn, but overall a fine piece IMO.
Just get it locally?

What are you trading for it? Looking at different dealer sites, I would say the price on an early silver buntmetal "bomber" clasp is anywhere from $450. - $550. depending on condition. Look around at Weitz, Philipp's, or Detlev's when he updates this Friday and get a better feel. Remember their prices are in Euro.
Seems like these have increased quite a bit lately, not sure why, maybe they were sleeping for too long compared to other badges, but the prices have increased and it's not only due to the dollar being weak.
I tried offering my buntmetal recon clasp up for trade on another clasp, but no takers. Now I have it listed on the e-stand for $475. but it's not moving. I priced it right in line with the ones I see listed on other sites and included shipping plus incidentals.
I was shocked to see a cased one list on Detlev's for 600 Euros back in March and it sold immediately! Appears that these cases have increased as well. These little cardboard boxes use to average about $150. and now go for around $200. If that's accurate, then that bronze recon clasp went for close to $600.00!
I know nice early ones are getting hard to find, but...makes you wonder where we are heading by this time next year.

Yes, I am wondering what's going on as well. For the longest time the gold bomber clasps (early buntmetal w/nice gilding) hung right around $350-$375. You can't touch one for that anymore, not even close! These are pretty common clasps IMO.
Why you're thinking, you should trade me one of those extra bomber clasps (silver or bronze) for my recon!
