    IAB marked L/50

I like some opinions on this one. Finish is pebble-like giving the badge a matte appearance. Has a slight vault. The maker mark is very faint and I could only make it out clearly under 20X magnification.

        Morning Bob,

Thanks for posting this "Juncker Project" IAB. The pic of the mm is so faint that I really can't make much out of it. Are you absolutely sure that it reads L/50?

As far as I'm aware of Godet isn't a known maker of combat badges but if I'm not mistaken and my memory serves me well, Godet is mentioned as a PAB maker in Tuckers book. Always wondered where this info came from.

If the L/50 mm is genuine it would fuel Franks "Juncker Project" theory but in the meantime he told me that he's looking in another direction when it comes to this IAB design.

          Dear Bob,

L/50, now that would be a first. I would also like to know if you are absolutely sure.
          Cheers, Frank

I have seen these so called Junker project IAB´s makermarked ´4`(Tucker has one in his book), L/56 before and now this L/50

Here is a mm 4 from my files, i hope the owner of the badge don´t mind me posting it here.

                  Hi Hans,

Well that's the exact same badge as posted by Bob. So what is it L/50 or L/56.

Since I saw the L/14 marked FLL nothing can scare me anymore

                    Bob,

are you shure it´s a L/50? Could the last be a 6 instead of 0

Ooops! Philippe beat me to it

                      hey Bob

I think that is a 56. I draw the shadow part as red.

                      regards

Philippe is correct it is the same badge. OK, right up front you're getting this from a guy who wears trifocal lenses so...I have examined the mark under 20X magnification and high intensity lighting and the mark is indeed L 50 in a rectangular box and it is a very very faint mark.
I'd be happy to send it to Frank or Philippe for an independent assessment of the authenticity of the mark.

I rubbed a soft lead pencil over the mark to bring up as much detail as I could and put it back on the scanner and magnified it several times. I am posting the result. What doesn't show well is the slash (/) in the L / 50. The 5 is very precisely formed and that does not show up well in the scan. However the 0 in 50 is quite visable.
