    Tank Destruction Badge - Type and question

    Not my specialty, can someone please confirm what type this TDB is?

    Also it has some type of residue on the tank, I have seen this before in images of these badges for sale.

    Initially I thought it was zinc pest, but obviously not as the badges are not made of zinc!

    Thanks in advance.

    Have a read of this thread Mike;

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=129311

    it is one of the best threads on the subject and will answer your question about what type this is. It is definitely an original with a nice backing still in tact.

    The residue looks to be something spilled on the tank like wax. vanish, glue ???

      Thanks in advance.

      Not mine either. But according to Dirk Schneider's book, in my opinion this is 2.01 Typ 2A of an unknown producer.

                When i had it in hand it looked like resin. I think it's possible to get it off but it will take some time..
                Kind regards,
                Giel
