    Alert!!! Suspicious FLL Assault Badges

    Hi guys,

I just saw some very suspicious looking badges up on auction. This auction company has an Infantry Assault Badge, two General Assault Badges, a Panzer Badge, and a Heer Flak Badge. All of the badges are marked in the same way with 'FLL 43'. The same auction also has a High Seas Fleet Badge and Auxiliary Cruiser Badge and both of those are marked 'FLL 43' as well. Highly suspicious that every single badge on this auction carries the same maker mark. The hardware and markings look convincing, but I wouldn't want to have any of these badges.

    Best regards,
    Tom

Does anyone else have suspicions about these badges? I must admit that they do look good in many respects, but I still have a bad feeling about them. Perhaps I am being too paranoid? I think it is very strange that every single combat badge in an auction has the same hardware and maker marking. But I suppose it is possible that all came from the same veteran, who took a handful of badges from the Friedrich Linden factory at the end of the war. But Friedrich Linden is not a known maker of the High Seas Fleet Badge or the Auxiliary Cruiser Badge. Very strange!

              Best regards,
              Tom

Hello Tom. I'm no expert but in my opinion the PAB badge is a fake. Comparing with others I've seen I noticed the eagle is very different on this one and doesn't look correct. I've yet to see a GAB with an FLL 43 mark, and lastly I have seen IAB badges with the FLL stamp before but not the 43. As a matter of fact most FLL badges I have seen are raised with the 43 mark and others without the 43 have the maker mark recessed. If anyone has a different opinion please post it as well as I'd like to know wether I'm correct or not. I would just stay away from this set as I do not like anything here.

Comparing these FLL badges with the badges you provide, they are not sharp in detail so most likely all a cast dangerous fake. Martin.

I think any one who is well educated in their collecting discipline will recognize these as fakes.

Its a great post so yes thank you for sharing your info/expertise.Perhaps we should all be a bit more proactive when it comes to fakes and post the images on WAF. Fakes are only good if being there sold as FAKE!!
