Gold CCC by FLL - for review and opinions, please

Herebelow are multiple pictures of a "gold" CCC by Friedrich Linden. It weighs 31 grams. The badge has several features that I like (for example, the "nail-like" hinge pin and the downward bend in the pin near the hinge, as illustrated in Tom Durante's excellent book) so I have a tendency to believe that the badge itself is original, but I just don't know what to think of the gold finish - which appears to be more like paint than Brennlack or a gold wash - although it does look old and naturally aged!

Interested in hearing my peers' opinions regarding the authenticity of the badge, specifically the gold finish on it. Thanks in advance!

Looks like new "fake" gold paint. The color does not look right and it seems there is a little gold paint on the backplate visible from the front.

                IMO it´s refinished.
The Gold color don´t look right.
Also strange with lot of finish on the front but not on the back?

Original FLL spange but most definately 'upgraded' to gold - I think it may have been a silver one (notice traces of silver around the catch and on the edges of the needle.)

The gold may have been done during the war, who knows, but to me it is for certain not done by FLL.

                    Hi Greg,

Refinished for sure, the most telling aspect is the color of the finish is incorrect and also notice that there is gold finish in the scrape where the pin swings out of the catch. That is the exactly opposite of what you want to see, typically this pin scratch is the first place to loose finish. Classic sign of a refinished clasp

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
