Daisy PAB for authentication - opinions appreciated!

Hello all,

I've had this PAB for quite some time, and felt good about it until looking at the fakes sub-forum for this award.

This thread led me to ask some further questions about its authenticity:

Although the issues listed in that particular thread (The "hole" on the left side where the wreath meets the turret and the poor details at the bottom) are not present on my badge, the OP also lists the expected size and weight of the bonafide badges vs. that particular fake:

This one measures 59.1mm x 40.5mm and weighs 21.6g. The dimensions of other zinc semi-hollow daisy PABs that I have measured are:
60.0mm x 41.8mm 29.8g
60.7mm x 41.4mm 30.7g
60.1mm x 41.5mm 30.3g


My badge is 61.04mm x 40.5mm and weighs 29.96 grams. So it's not as heavy as the listed correct badges, but much heavier than the fake one. It's also taller then the ones listed, but not as wide.

I would think that a bogus casting would be slightly smaller than an original in all dimensions, yes?

That fake in the link is pretty good, but no worries, you have an original Daisy PAB.
