Unfortunately they are correct this is not an original ccc , it’s looks like it’s isnt very old really and not even a good reproduction!

This one try to look as an S&L but it´s a poswar refinished CCC IMO

Hmmm, the clasp itself is an original IMO, however the finish is definately not correct. Hardware looks good and the details of the clasp look ok, however it may be ground dug or poorly stored resulting in the pitting we see in spots on the obverse. Its also been refinished with modern silver finish.

An original clasp, but refinished IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks! Today I'll take some acetone and test it.

I don't think acetone is going to affect this, its a thick modern plating which I suspect will not rub off with acetone.

Too bad, someone ruined a fine original S&L clasp with new finish.

Return it to the guy you bought it from. If he stands behind his stuff he'll take it back.
If he doesn't, either keep it as a reminder or sell it to the guy on the German forum that likes it.

I would also suggest returning it. Even though the clasp itself is original, the new finish on it devalues it (similar to repairing or replacing hardware on a badge). It ruins the item IMO, so I would return it and get your money back. Original, unmessed with S&L clasps are quite common so you should be able to find a better one pretty easily that you will be much happier with in the long run.
