    Silver IAB--CW Marked

    Sirs,

I have picked this badge up recently and have been studying it. Based on my limited knowledge, it appears to be an original Carl Wild silver grade IAB.

Is that a correct evaluation? I know that IABs are not particularly valuable in most respects, but is this CW maker a bit on the rare side?

    Kind Regards,

    Z

Here's a better shot of the makers mark.

    Thanks,

Original Carl Wild indeed, but with a repaired catch.
I wouldn't call these rare, these silver grades are often offered on the marked, most of the time in very good condition with lots of silvering left.
Bronze grades are extremely rare imo.

        Kray,

Thank you. And yes, since posting this, I've been reading further and it is the bronze version that is rare. Forgive my ignorance, I should have read a little more before posting. But I am correct in calling this one an original silver version--albeit with the repair you mentioned and significant loss to the silver finish?

        Thanks,

        Z

Hi Zachary, yes you are correct on the maker.
You did well on finding an original item, that's what counts

            Hi Z

......Is it just a distorted digital image, or is there something seriously amiss with the eagle's head?

I have noticed that, but I believe it is the picture.

It looks like an original to me

and it is well known that the Carl Wild eagles' head is one of the ugliest to be found. It looks more like a dogs head.

                regards
                Graeme
