    2 GABs // Förster & Barth + Unknown maker.

    Hello

Just got these 2 GABs recently.

The unmarked L/21 has probably a replaced catch (was sold as such) have not seem L/21 GABs with a base plate, but this is also the first L/21 GAB if have seen for sale anywhere. Coastal Art. badges from L/21 are found with base plates so I have a tiny bit of hope that it might be original but am fully aware that its very unlikely.

I would love to hear your views on them, if all checks out.

    Thank you.

          Hi Sindri

          In my personal opinion
The first is an unmarked L/21 with a rectangular catch base plate that I never seen on the L/21 Gab ! For sure are rare Gabs and not a lot around but the all that I saw on the forums has this kind of catch directly soldered on badge with out any plate... from what I see I like the base plate and I think that can be original and not replaced ..

Did L/21 use this catch and base plate on other badge ?

The second Gab is an unknown maker in lovely condition !!

          All the best
          Nicola

I also believe the catch is not a replacement.

The 2nd GAB is textbook and has the unique catch, but keep in mind that the catch is a fragile one, after all it’s zinc with no plate.

Great pair of badges. The gem for sure is the umarked L/21.
