    Two IAB's for Review

    Good Evening Gents,

As the title states, please see the pictures below for review. My gut tells me the bronze one is original (however my gut has been wrong many times, lol), but I'm not entirely sure of the silver one.

Any help, thoughts,, opinions, or advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks!

    Sean

The silver one looks like a nice original to me with a good amount of the original finish. Still a debate as to the exact maker of these (Adolph Scholze is a leading candidate), but definitely from a Gablonz maker.

The bronze looks a bit soft in details to me but it may just be the poor photos. I think it is good, but without better photos I wouldn't take a chance on it myself. In addition, some shots of the hinge and catch from the side would help as the copies usually aren't truly crimped in like the originals. Someone with a better eye for details may be able to give a better opinion, but i tend to be cautious.

Thanks Dale. Here are a couple more pic's of the hinge and catch. Let me know what you think?

Thanks Andy, yours is a beauty for sure! The only real difference that I notice between yours and the one I have shown is the semi-hollow version that I have shown for sale. Definitely a Gablonz manufacturer for sure, I just wonder if they changed their dies at some point during the war hence the semi-hollow version?

Once again, very nice example, thanks for showing it!

                  Best regards,

                  Sean

                    Sean,
I think the bronze one is fine, though it does have some touches of zincpest and will need some Vaseline treatment if you buy it. These IABs come in both solid and semi-hollow versions. Here's a good thread to show you some of the differences - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=triangle+iab.
