    First IAB

    Hello gents

Would like to buy my very first IAB and this f.o. (n° 8) looks like a candidate: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=946649

I did my homework and Sascha Weber says in his ISA book on pg 120: "Diese stücke waren als Fälschungen umstritten. Dieses wurde jedoch durch Bodenfunde widerlegt" But I would still like to see some thumbs up (or down) from some more experienced people then me

    Thank you!

Imo this is a cast fake. Details are very soft.

I can only agree, the 1st badge posted is a cast fake.

Notice the soft reverse edges compare with the one Kray shows, also the difference in detail of the acorn caps. Little details like this are important because the fakes are good these days. But that is how we all learn and you are on your way with this hobby, keep doing your homework and post here to be sure. Welcome to the party

                  Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Got new pictures from the seller. I can see where the concern came from concerning the soft edges on the reverse. In the acorn cups my untrained eye doesn't see much more or less detail in comparison to the other examples. Wonder what you think about the badge now? (clicking on the pic should give you a bigger image if everything works as it should)

The marking isn't good, as the catch is too (and the way it is placed on the badge).

I would pass on this one.
