Hi all,
I got this nice group in yesterday. Iam not a Badges Collector and also no Foto or documents Collector. So Iam thinking about selling the whole Group on the Estand. But at first i will you guys have a look at it. It comes to me through the son of the former Vet. It needs a long time to make him ready to sell the group.
It is a really nice group of a Legion Condor Vet. He was the proud owner of the Panzerkampfwagen Abzeichen der Legion Condor and also the Spanish Cross in Bronze.
The Soldier (name is known) joined the army very early in 1934. He started with Reiter Regiment 12 Dresden. In 1936 he joined the PzRgt.3 and fought in Spain from okt36 - nov38 with legion Condor.
Later he was also on crete with Panzer-Abt. 212.
I have his Wehrnumber and also the number of the Dog tag, which is a very low number of that unit (83). Unfortunaltity he loose the LC Tank Badge at the end of the war. There are two copys of letters in the lot were he has written all units he served in. There is also a statment for pension office or something like that. In that letter he wrote that he cannot provide his Wehrpass or any documents to the office as his appartment was completly robed off when he came home to Wienna / Austria. His familie escaped to Saxony/ Germany. (This is were i live).
Ok, back to the group.
The Fotoalbum has some 218 Pics in it. You can see very nice Tank pics, destroyed tanks, enemis Tanks. Bunkers in France, destroyed towns and so on. Some Pics are probably Crete, and some are probably Spain. You can see Guys in spanish uniforms an it looks like the theatre there. But iam no expert on this. Also there are some 63 single pics, also with nice technik and tanks. You can see him some 4 times with the LC Tank Badge, also you can see the Spanish Cross.
All in all, very nice Fotos with a lot of tanks and technik, many pics from Crete and Spain, many pics with black tank uniforms, also some nice pics with tropical uniforms. Many guys with difficult to judge uniforms and so on.
The Bronce Spanish Cross is missing the little prong, but is nicely personalised with his name and Pz. Rg. 3. Writing is stencil or ink and 100% geniue.
The Ribbon bar has one Spanish medal and the other ones you will surly better know than me.
Also in the lot is the original shoulder board of his walking out tunic. There is a nice vase with inscription to Pz.Pgt.3
All in all it is a nice group of Panzer Regiment 3, and the fact that the vet owned the LC Tank Badge make it incredible rare.
Iam boring of writing now. I would much appricate all opinions and ideas for value. I will send now some 27 Pics, if you should need any other pics please let me know.
I dont know why only this items of the whole group survived the war and not also the other ones, but this was the way i found them and there wasnt any more.
Please be patience with me.
Thanks Jens
