Hallo All,

I don´t usually do these "look at my badge" threads but I´ve been searching for one of these for about 5 years. I was even more determined to get a minty example after Marcus held his amazing example under my nose

The other day I eventually found one, unfortunatly in a dealers hands and rather expensive but being totally addicted to TR War Badges I just had to have it.

Today it arrived and I must admit that I am over the moon about it and just have to show it off.

Strangely the case is of an early type with velvet backing to the inlet but the badge fits perfectly into it.

You do see AGMuKs for sale now and again but usually they are pretty beat up or have zinc rot. I was always tempted but wanted on in a good condition.

Love that ball hinge. This ones been crimped in and then soldered over, probably to give it a better hold.

Well that indeed is a stunning beauty. Look how the frosting is dripping of the eagles beak, just like it was painted yesterday. Just kidding

Did anybody ever wonder why only the blockade runner seems to come in these special cases accompanied by the minature. Why didn't they do that with all the other KM badges, for sure would have looked nice.

as far as I know the BB badge was usually awarded to merchant navy crews. They wore a sort of civvy uniform and would wear the badge on the lapel of their jacket.

Wonder if anybody has a pic of someone wearing one?
