CCC in Silver by GWL - Opinions please

Hi guys! I want to share with you my CCC in Silver:

The clasp is zinc based and very slightly worn with practically all of it's finish. Marked on the reverse with "GWL" in a circle for the company of Gebrüder Wegerhoff from Lüdenscheid. See Thomas Durante, p.144/145.

I would very appreciate to hear your opinion about the clasp, the silver finish and also about the reverse (magnetic backplate).

    Many thanks in advance

I think for the first it's enough. If you need better ones or others, just let me know

          No one?

No opinion or comment to this clasp? Should I worry?

The backplate looks strange, it looks like someone have messed with that

              Hi Andy,

thanks for the first comment. Honestly it is also my impression. That is why I posted it here. In Germany everyone is confirming me that everything looks good, but I am doubting and can't believe. Any other opinions?

I would appreciate to hear Toms (Durante) point of view

              Thanks in advance!

That clasp just gives me bad vibrations.

                  Hi guys,

Well the backplate is definiately replaced, it is not what we see on original GWL clasps. The silver finish on it looks OK to me, I like the look of the bubbling and the fading due to the zink base metal. But ofcourse since the backplate is not original, there will always be a question about refinishing. Unfortunately GWL didn't use a good crimping method, so they tend to loose their backplates over time. That makes them susceptible to tampering with.

                  Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I like the clasp, I like the finish, but the backplate is indeed replaced.
                    Kind regards,
                    Giel

                      I appreciate your help

                      Good evening folks!

Thank you very much for your opinion and recension. It was also my guess that the backplate is replaced. With the rest I totally agreed: finish and the originality of the clasp, but I bought it as a fully matching and untouched one. That's why I was not happy with that one. Thankfully it was possible to return the clasp.

Happy New Year to all of you and thanks again!
