    Bronze Shuco IAB

Hi guys, Just got this badge recently and would like your comments on possible value of badge. The pictures make the badge almost black. And there is more bronze color left on the badge then the picture shows. Thanks Brian

      Hello

I bought my mint bronze hollow SHuCo IAB from Detlev for 130 € last october.

And to be honest I don`t like your IAB to much because there are quite a few differences compared to the originals I have seen.

Sven, Thanks for replying. What differences are you seeing? Do think This badge might not be good? The dealer who I purchased it from did have some fake badges mixed in with his stuff. I am by no means an expert on badges but I HAD a good feeling on it's originality. Thanks, Brian

              Hi Brian.
Relax, in my opinion this is a good IAB. Other than the catch being different than Sven's I see nothing to raise any red flags. You may want to do something about the bit of zincpest that is going on however.

                Hi Brian,

I will explain why I don`t feel good about your IAB.

First of all the hollow SHuCo IABs are really rare (besides mine I only know 2 more) compared to the massive SHuCo IABs which you see quite often. I don`t think that SHuCo had some different tools to make those hollow ones.

When you compare the eagles head especially from the back you will find a difference.
The mm on yours looks like worn off but I don`t see a reason for that because it is in a "protected area" where nothing can "rub" it off.
And the whole quality of the beadge lets me doubt it.

                  Hi Guys,

Sven, I'm with Chet on this one, really can't see anything wrong with Brian's badge. Don't forget that your badge is in exceptional good condition and this explains the differences you see when comparing it to Brian's.

                    Hello Philippe,

you are right that the two IABs are in quite a different condition. And perhaps I get over sensitive after the brilliant copies I have seen the past days.
But do you really think Brians an my IAB were made with the same tools? I honestly don`t think so and I still don`t like Brians IAB. I would not want it in my collection. I still see to many differences.

                              Hi guys!

Sven, i am with Chet and Philippe on this one. A typical hollow mm type, not in the best condition though. I see no red flags on it what so ever. Eventhough it´s a rare IAB made of SH.u.Co, i must say that i wouldn´t wanna have this particular one in my collection.
                              Regards
                              Hans N

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).
