    GAB badge Two-tone look?

Opinions please on this GAB. I have not seen one with this two-tone look before. Is it just wear?
    Thanks, Mike

It appears that the center motif is raw zinc base metal from having had its finish removed. I only have a phone screen but I think I can see rub marks from whatever was used to remove the silver finish with. Also, it doesn't look recently done at all. It may be a period modification.

I also believe that it didn't leave the mfg. in that configuration but it has a great "look" to it and will display well.

Almost looks like it's pretending to be a numbered general assault badge. For sure it didn't leave the factory that way as you can see traces of finish on the bird. Seeing the finish preserved on the wreath the badge looks hardly worn.
