I have told him that I was going to return it, he doesn't think damage in post is a reason. O told him it was due to his packaging. I will see what he does.

Looks like a paypal claim is in your future Dave. Very disappointing for Pep. His weak and lame packaging got a good badge wrecked and now he refuses to make this right. Maybe a post on the collector community forum to let others know not to deal with Pep.
      Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

Dave your totally correct to send this one back,

I would be highly embarrassed if I would send a rare PAB in a regular envelop.

Poor packaging imo , would not take much pressure from a machine or someone who walked on it . Should have had bubble wrap and a bit of cardboard and put in a box . Rob
God please take justin bieber and gave us dio back

I would never dream of sending an item that someone had paid good money for through the postal system like that.If I was the receiver I would be rightly furious.

              Make it right Pep.

Even if you want to send cheaper, a badge should never be sent like that.

Return badge and refund for the buyer here!
                Kind regards,

                    Hi,

Sorry about the badge, and it is always a shame when a piece of history is damaged by carelessness.

I never, never, ever ship a badge in anything other than a box. Cardboard and bubble wrap are used, and the badge is placed in a plastic zip lock bag just in case of water exposure. The price paid by the buyer has absolutely NO impact on careful packaging. This is ALWAYS the sellers responsibility, no excuses.

                    Best,

                    Jeff

Ok, so To make this easy, I am going to keep the badge at a cheaper price reflecting the current condition. So what are you guys thoughts on the new value of the badge? Half, 2/3s ?
                        Thanks
                        Dave

                          Hi Dave,

I would think at a minimum a third, in my mind much more as it looks like there is a hole all of the way through the badge caused by the catch being ripped off. Could you post an image of the obverse, and maybe one of (obverse) with the catch placed back into position. Curious how the obverse looks now.

                          Best,

                          Jeff

Jeff, appearance wise, the badge doesn't look bad. This manufacture had a crimp around the catch, which sits in the hole on a small round base. however the top mount on the pin is loose now as well.

                              Dave,
If it a example you need for your collection you will never be happy with it. It is a common enough PAB. Send it back and move on.
