More Opinions about this clasp ? About the Black Back plate ?

I don't like the finish on the back plate, I would say it's refinished or a replacement part. I actually don't like this smooth silver finish on the whole clasp. All details are faded. Wonder what Tom's input would be.
              Kind regards,
              Giel

Using Tom's book this piece has all the characteristics of an
F & BL CCC. Also, if you look at the photos in Tom's book regarding F & BL CCC's the backplate definitely has a more "black painted" finish. The backplate seems tightly fixed in place as it should be. Doubt it has been messed with. I really think this is an unmessed with clasp.

I would say it is a genuine mint clasp and the backing plate has not been out- I base that on having seen this type of crimping on 3 or 4 F&BL clasps previously
