    Help for a FLL CCC

    Hi guys,

What do you think about this one?
For me, it looks like a type 3 (fluted pin) from FLL, except for the catch which is a the one used on type 2.
Thomas' book doesn't report if variation did exist, using both type 2 and 3 set up, as we can find on some other badges.

IMO, I would bet on a good one. But community opinion is always appreciated!

    Greg.

        Hi Greg,

Indeed a good one, rarer to find with fluted pin and also round wire catch. We hadn't seen that variant by the time my CCC book went to the printer, but have seen a few in the last 10 years. A legitamate and rare later-war variant IMO. Nice finish left on it too.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

          I like it also
Like Tom said, there were discoveries made after publishing.
I think the hardware combination is fantastic.
