General Assault badge (Cupal, solid back) for review

Hi, I haven't bought an award for a little while, hope this one looks OK?

The seller describes it as unknown maker type "1.24.2", also (I believe) possibly known as unknown maker #7, please correct me if that is wrong!

I don't have it in hand yet, the pictures were taken by the dealer, hence the swastika has been partially obscured.

    Regards, Paul

Many thanks for the feedback Nightstalker.

I didn't realize that this (unknown) maker had been identified as Vienna based. Very interesting!

A nice worn GAB, and not the most often encountered type

It was absolutely correctly attributed - based on Heukemes book

          Hi Paul,

That's an easy badge to authenticate. This one is my personal favorite GAB. Love the lightweight but quality feel to these badges.

Very nice original of a scarce badge to find.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Tom, many thanks! I have it in hand now and am very pleased with it, such a great design.

I bought it to add to a new Pioneer tunic, so it has a home! As John says the aluminium content makes it surprisingly light, which is actually quite good for reducing strain on 70 year old award loops.

Have added a couple of pictures for your interest, keeping a Friedrich Orth EK1 company!

                  Best regards, Paul

These awards fit well on the jacket. Lovely composition you've got there

                      Hi Paul

Definitely a good one in my opinion and looks fantastic with the wear to it. Gives it a wonderful appearance

Great shot with the tunic and the EK1

                      regards

                        Thanks Heydrich, thanks Graeme.

If anyone's interested I've just finished posting a fairly long thread on this tunic. It has some service wear so I thought the wear on the badge was a reasonable match.

Aside from that I totally understand the desire for mint items, I'm not immune from that myself!
