    Infantry Assault Badge For Opinion

    Hello,

Would like to know if this is a wartime original Infantry Assault badge.

Also, what's the best reference book on Infantry Assault Badges?

    Thanks,

    Matt

        Hi Matt,

I can only agree with the others, a nice original "AS in Triangle" IAB. Exact maker behind this mark is still unknown at this time, but definately from the Gablonz area based on the reverse hardware setup.

I would agree with Andy that Sascha Weber's book would be a good start if you are interested in the IAB. Not comprehensive, but a good overview IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Weber published an update to that book in 2014 I believe. In the new version some of the badges known as 'Unknown Manufacturer' were updated.

However, the book is only available in German.
