    Hi Antonio,

    I guess no chance of some better pics?

    I definiately don't like the catch, for sure not wartime. But the rest of the badge and hardware looks OK from these pics, so my opinion is that its an original badge, but with replaced catch.

            I hoped some more guys jumped in in this discussion.

            Too bad this is the last generation of fakes that surface on the market.
            I published the first badges surfaced a couple of years ago on the book, at that time there were 3 variations of hardware setup used (Fake n. 4 in the fake chapter of the "Anti-Partisan Badge" book).

            Nowdays the fakers have done a really great job, but not yet enough to be like an original.

            These badges have a great obverse and reverse, but:
            - they lack details when compared to an original
            - they show all the same casting flaws on the reverse
            - they never have the Juncker perfectly matching hardware setup.

            Here some more exmples and comparisons.

              Comparison with the CG site badge (photo 1).

              Comparison between a skull on this type of fake and the skull of an original type 2 badge (photo 2).

              I think in the next future we will see some more improvements of this badge. Keep your eyes open on it!

                            Unfortunately there are a few inconsistencies in the theory of this badge being a fake and the same as fake #4. The first is that I can make out what appears to be the Type 2 Die Flaw even with these bad pictures. The flaw does not appear on other examples of this fake. This suggests that this is a late Type 2 which could have easily been copied.

                              Look at the identical wear to the obverse between this badge and the one shown in the book. Surely this can be faked, but the resemblance to the naturally worn appearance is beyond impressive.
