    Scanner Testing

    Hi Guys !
Have been damn busy lately .
But I found a scanner one sale here in Norway , Epson Perfection 2480 Photo .
For about € 105 . They only had two left , so I had to grab one of them .
Not able to post pics at the moment but will come pack with scans later .
Hope Frank will be pleased when I post scans made with a Epson Scanner .

    Jan Arne

PS ! Pics of a Assmann PAB in SIlver just got in .

curious to see quality of your scanner, in States you can get the 2480 epson for 73 euro or $99.00...
anybody use the 1670 epson scanner that can be had for 51 euro delivered or $69.00.....

        Hi Jeff !

You most remember Norway is a high cost country .
        Normally a Epson 2480 scanner cost about € 175 in Norway .
When I bought my HP 4570 for about 3 Year ago it cost nearlly 300 € .

Only thing I dont like is in the Installing of Software for Epson . Not alowwed to browse the PC and put the Program in a other station on Harddisc . Always building My PC with 6 - 8 Stations on 2 harddiscs . Have only Windows on C: , Security on D: Antivirus , Partition Magic , Ghost , Copy Drives etc. , Other programs on E: scanners , cameras , wireless network etc. . All scanned pics on F: . C - F is disc 1 and G - J is disk 2 .

I just bought scanner, a HP scanjet 2400 for 39.99 (pounds) over here in the UK.

What ever all this means but its a, '1200 dpi and 48 bit' that may make sense to some of you.

But it's great and I can show the full quality of these German awards

Great scans Jan on epson...I was just pointing out for people in states that these can be had at a good price and still have $ left for a badge..I really believe scanners take the 'BEST' pictures even better then digital, because you get the best lighting that is consistant as compared to a digital picture..though digital camera is good for side and angled view close ups..
I have a ISSUE with Frank H---OK you are a moderator and have a huge amount of posts....when I do searchs for reference more times then not many of your old posts have no pictures they are gone or missing in a lot of the threads ?..so PLEASE when you finish your book can you repost pictures-yes this may be a daunting task but the threads in the forum are so informative and your comments so relevent its sad that we no longer have pictures to go with it...

Nice badges Jan and Marcus. Please don't keep us in suspense. Show the reverses.
My scanner is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

                    Hi Bob !

I also have a Canon 1250U2 , but have to say that I prefer HP . Only problem I have with HP is when I should scan with white background . On HP the background get blue , for me !!
All my other scans with red background is made with HP . The new HP scanners have something they call 3D - CCD tecnology . Have someone tried this scanners ? Does Your HP have this Marcus ?
Most of this I think is because I am normally use HP , and have learned to use hte software .
Here is back of the Assmann PAB .

And here is what I can do to make the background on HP white , use a with cotton glove behind the badge . Not sure but think the problem on HP can be that the background is to shinny .
But this HP scanner is about 2.5 Year old and has only 24 bit coulor . The new once have also 48 bit coulor tecnology . The Epson 2480 have 48 bit . And that also makes scans better .

                        Hey Jan Arne

Yes it has as you quote, the CCD 3-D, the pictures are great.......well a hell of lot better than the digital camera and looking glass as a close up aid.

40 pounds over here from a high street shop for one of these is a 'steal', and luckily my friend and forum member Dave B (UK) put me onto this offer !!

Frank, didn't I bring this one over last year for you to hold ?? It's not new no, I'll bring it over in a couple of weeks, it could have been one of the other ones I brought over ? (I'll be buggered if I can remember)

I was very fortunate to purchase this from the e stand over a year ago now, near on two in fact perhaps. It's boxed of course

Here's the reverse, and thank you for the very kind comments guys

Von Luger, I regret this as well. I have not deleted them. It seems they are too big in format and get deleted by Seba after a while to regain some needed space. I will try and make my pics smaller in resolution and size in the future so they stay up longer. Sorry, I cannot possibly find all of my old posts and repost pictures!

@Marcus: No, first time I see that great badge!
                            Cheers, Frank
