    New PAB

Here is the latest PAB to pull in to the motor pool.

    A silver F&B.

The reverse. Sorry about the crappy pics. Lighting sucks. I have a scanner on the way.

      Hi Don,

Looks like a very nice example with a strong finish. Only stupid thing is that these little buggers feature the trabbi design.

Once you learned to appreciate the true beauty and quality of early PAB's like, Assmann, Wurster, Mayers, Hymmens so called Porsches, Zimmermanns, Daisies and 7 Wheelers I find it ever more difficult to convince myself to add yet another "Wernstein design" to my collection.

Wonder how other PAB collectors feel about this?

I know what you mean Philippe. If I didn't feel the need to have one of every maker I probably wouldn't have this one. But I guess that is what collecting is all about.

PS- don't forget to look for a porsche pab for me at the stuttgart show. Wish I was going. My favorite beer is Stuttgarter Hofbrau in the half liter bottle.

Even though this PAB features the same obverse as the other makers you mention Philippe, I think you have to consider this as a variation that you must have! The hinge/catch attachments are very unique to this maker and I definitely feel that it is one I would pursue. I have it's twin in bronze, and I would definitely try to obtain a silver like this one. Just my opinion.

I agree with you 100% Philippe, but like the other guys I would also add one to my collection

I know I know, if I would stumble over a good one I wouldn't hessitate myself to pick it up but I would never pay a premium for such a PAB.

I think we should try to educate the sellers/dealers a little bit and with the exception of AWS, EWE and to a lesser degree RRS ignore these PAB's untill they understand that you can't sell these low quality, late war badges for anything else then a low price.

After seeing our friend Winkler selling his last small "w" buntmetall PAB for €100 less then the one he sold before we shouldn't underestimate the power of our forum. If they can't make the difference between a quality badge and a a low quality badge we should help them a little.

                Don,

Very nice! Not my favorite PAB design either, but I think a hard setup to find.

@Philippe - so my friend you are also recognizing the "true beauty and quality" of Hymmens?

                Best,
                Greg
