      Indeed, the cleaned awards that you have shown indicate just how amazing items recovered from the ground can be. A parallel can be found in the helmet forum as well.

        I agree. This award must have either been wrapped in cloth or something protective or it just happened to be in the right type or soil or whatever, but the condition is amazing for a dug up award.
