    Infantry Assault Badge Good?

I picked up this IAB recently, and I don't know a huge amount on how to tell if it's a real or fake, doesn't seem to be any hallmark on this one that I can see anyway, but kind of a struggle to see anything as it's a hollow one..
    See what you think
    Cheers

Hi Tom & welcome to the forum,

I am going to move your thread over to the Heer & Waffen SS War and Qualification Badge Forum as you will get more opinions there.

      Hi Tom

Sorry to say that I believe this to be a bad one based on the FZS design.

Quite a few similar variations of this type have shown up recently.

Best to post in the Heer forum for more replies.

      best regards
      Graeme

        Hi. Graeme

Thanks for the feedback, what drew me to this IAB was the aging of the metal that to me didn't look artificial, I also can't see any stamp at all or FZS, could it be an unmarked B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim?

I agree with Graeme here....a fake IAB based on the FZS made IAB. I will go as far to say that there is no chance that it is a TR era badge made by any German manufacturer during that time period.

I agree, very common fake unfortunately.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
