I would not know HOW that Tombak coating was applied, I just see that it is there.

Philippe, you mean Tombak coloured coating, not copper coloured coating?

Tombak coating or whatever, I really wouldn't know. I only see that on some badges some kind of colored coating was applied. My chemical knowledge zero so I really wouldn't know what these coatings consist of.

When I first had the badge the colour was even all over. BAD storage ment that the colour was lost from the high points. On the reverse you see the colour is much richer under the pin. I have to say you have to have it in your had to apreciate the colour.

A little comparison between the badge on a dealer´s site described in the first post of this thread and a fake Brehmer GAB, which was identified by Lorenzo.
Check out the "bubbles" pattern on the reverse. They are excatly the same. It can be assumed that the original badge this was cast from, had the bubbles aligned in that pattern. As a result, the castings have the bubbles always in the exact same location.

Good observation
After looking at your comparison it all of a sudden dawn on me. The idiots responsible for making these are the same crooks pushing out the fake Assmann PAB's. Same hardware and same errors when it comes to casting. On the PAB's they casted the spilled over solder exactly the same on every badge.

If the guys responsible for making these badges by any chance read this forum this is for you
