    Bronze MK1 IAB

    Hello,
Bought this, it's silver brother, and a bronze MK4 IAB (posted for review in another thread) at a small militaria show in Germany about 10 years ago and finally getting around to having it reviewed. I believe it is 100% original, including the finish, but after I bought it I accidentally broke the hook off. A jeweler friend of mine repaired it the other day (using the original hook) and did an excellent job IMO. He even offered to use a bronze rub on the small bit of solder that shows but I told him that would be going too far, I just wanted it to be functional again and as close to original as possible.

Took the photos under cloudy skies, but can take more next week if needed and weather permits.

So, would like to get your opinions as to originality of finish, etc.
    Thank you,
    Dale

              Hi Dale,

Must have missed this one on the first go around.

Nice original badge with great finish. The only issues I see are the replaced pin and replaced catch IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thank you very much, Tom! I knew the catch was repaired as I had it done myself, but didn't notice that the pin had been replaced. Guess I should have noticed the scratches around the ball hinge. Oh well, now to find another to replace it, the hunt never ends!

                  Hi Dale,

the finish is OK with no problems. But I also think the pin is replaced. Is longer than it should be and also the forming by the ball hinge is not 100% correct.

But it is still nice badge!

                  Best regards
                  Pavel

Thanks Pavel! If you have one to spare, I'm looking for a replacement.
