Algemeines Sturmabzeichen "W" ??

First I'd like to ask the most important question:
Is this Algemeines Sturmabzeichen original? He looks very good to me.

I also like to know what the "W" at the hinge means. Is it the marking of the factory?

I hope someone can help me.

Yes, it is a good badge. The small "w" on the reverse indicates that it was produced by Karl Wurster.

Yes, that is a nice second pattern hinge Wurster GAB. First pattern has a block hinge and exists in Tombak and zinc. Second pattern zinc only.

I didn't knew that the markings could be this small. (exept ofcourse when they're stamped on the "ring" )
