If you look closely on the round boss for the catch crimp, you should see the number '100' upside down, above the catch. The number '100' is the Lieferant number (official supplier to the chancellery number) for Rudolf Wächtler & Lange.

Also, the badge is unmistakable by obverse design, finish, and the hardware setup on the reverse.

        Best regards,
        Tom

Tom is spot on as usual, this one is a nice original W&L. Typical tiny bubbling to the finish with this maker.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Yes! It is still a nice original. The seller probably does not realize that the marking is there.

                Best regards,

If you have the time and inclination, take a look at this thread to find the establishment of a link between W&L and the Adolf Scholze firm in Gablonz - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...29#post4167829. Warning you, though, your head may be spinning by the time you dig through the thread, but you'll definitely know more about your wound badge!

BTW, congratulations on finding an excellent example of this badge.
