    Opinions - Bandenkampfabzeichen in bronze

I was wondering what the current opinion was on this type of anti partisan badge - original wartime manufacture or post war reproduction? Thanks in advance.

          Hi Jeff

Great badge:-) Is this Frank Heukemes old badge? Would love to hear where you got this rare badge from.

          Cheers Thomas

This is the exact one featured in Antonio's Anti-Partisan badge book (one of two shown).

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

              Where from?

              Thanks to you all.
I bought it off the Estand in Sept 2012 from one of the forum moderators.

A killer piece, only a handful of these are known.
Of course this is one of the most rare BKAs to find.

                - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE

Damn I know where there is one just like this that I had a chance to buy about 5 years ago and I thought it was a post war fake....there are other badges in the cigar box as well.I do not remember what they all were but I am calling the lady right now and see if I can still get them.I know she has not sold them and she did say if I ever wanted them they would be in the attic in a old trunk.

Indeed, it's the Frank Heukemes badge posted here in 2006 (described as bronze grade):
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...65#post1256465

I see it's up for sale again on e-stand with new photos.

                    Best regards,
                    ---Norm

Norm, you say it was described as a bronze grade?
Wow, it was just sold on the estand as "A strongly faded golden Bandenkampfabzeichen attributed to Rudolph Souval"...hope the buyer is aware of all this.

Well, from what examples we’ve seen posted and discussed on the forum, the Souval-attributed bronze grade is no less rare than the gold grade, so the distinction shouldn’t matter much unless one already has the bronze grade and is trying to collect the set.

                        Best regards,
                        —Norm

Franks old thread is an interesting read. Good and bad. Shows how far our knowledge of this award has come. Never been a fan of awards produced by Souval but their BKA design is the best IMO.

It is indeed, I wish Frank was still on the forum,
I totally do not agree with my comments in that old thread! I now think it's a very nice badge!
                            Kind regards Chay

I am the buyer and I was under no illusion that it was a gold grade! Craig accidentally quoted the wrong caption from Antonio's BKA book! All is good and I am thrilled to have gotten ahold of this piece for my collection!!
