Zimmerman? Juncker? or other? A GAB for your inspection.

With all the discussion going on about the panzer badges being either Zimmerman or Juncker, it got me thinking about this general assault badge. As you can see, the catch is broken, but what is left clearly shows it to be of flat wire construction.

Anyone here care to offer their thoughts?

              Hi Mark!

              Getting cooooold yet???

Just to chip in... I have one exactly the same (don't have the pic to hand), and I'll post it later. Same hinge/catch and same heavy silver finish. (Actually now I recall, it's in the collector association image library).

Hi mark. here's one to compare to . Looks to me to be exactly the same except mine has a gold patina to it. Juncker? Dunno..

sure enough, thats the same badge. Mine has that gold patina to it as well, but the flash washed it away.

Is there any other maker that used the oblong catch plate like this? I am inclined to believe its a Juncker as well. It certainly has the detail that one would expect from a premier company.

                      Just a little.....

....sidebar here. I know, that because of the seeming use of this type pin/hinge/clasp set-up by FZS, the question has arisen Junkers or Zimmermann. The one really interesting factor I see here concerns the goldish patina. Maybe I am really off-base but my Zimmermann IAB has goldish patina to it.

Does Junker show that kind of patina on it's badges as well? Or does the patina come into play here as an indicator of manufacturer?

                      Curious.

                        Junker or Zimmermann

                        Hi Guys !
I think the GAB is a Junker because Zimmermann use to have a raised area around hinge and catch . Look at pics of back of PAB and IAB from Zimmermann . But I could be wrong . Just my opinion .
