    1942 AWS PAB opinions

How does this look? I have compared it to other good pics, and the catch is the one thing that concerns me most.
    Thanks,
    Marc

Marc, the catch is not correct for this maker.

      Hi Marc,

Although it doesn't feature the typical crimp pattern (a little might be left on top of the catch crimp) on hinge and/or catch normally encountered on these PAB's I like it very much. The wear/ageing looks correct and the same goes for the finish that on this badge looks quite bright. Copies feature a much darker bronze finish. Also the hinge pin that slightly sticks out to the left is a typical feature for original AWS's. if you can, try to get better/brighter pics but it looks very promissing overall.

        AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Philippe, I saw that mark next to the catch and thought it might be part of the crimp, but from these photos I would never make that call. This is one of those badges that I would have to have a textbook example of.
