    Heer Flakabzeichen funcke & bruninghaus

    Hello Collectors,

I would like your opinions on this piece, I have been told it is made by Funcke&Bruninghause but I don't know enough of these medals to know it is true

    Thanks alot !

    Hi Chris,

Can you post some closer up pics of the obverse and reverse? I would also want to see some closeups of the hardware too with the pin out of the way.

Some aspects look good to me, like the bubbling of the zink and the hardware, but other points are questionable like the pin.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

This is an intriguing badge. Several features of it do suggest it could be an original Funke & Bruninghaus Heeresflak. But as Tom suggests, the photos aren't clear enough to make a definite judgement call either way. The outlines of the badge, the eagle's face, etc., do look plausible for an F&B. But...
        1) better photos are needed and
        2) from these images, the hardware appears atypical.

Textbook hardware on F&B Heeresflaks included sheet metal hinges, and round wire catches on circular base plates. The hardware on this example looks very different.

Finally, is there an "L56" maker's mark on the badge?

Better photos will be key to a thorough assessment.
        Best regards,
        JJS
