        Just to note....
The second badge shown in this thread is now in my collection having been recently purchased. I'm happy to receive any feedback on it, as well as to answer any questions about it.

          Hi Mark,

Nice original Juncker for me. Nice pick up JJ.

Thanks Tom. I like my new badge and, with all due respect to Mark, I prefer it over the other example that opened this thread. Why? Three reasons:
            1) in hand the finish on mine looks better than it appears in the scans;
            2) it is "textbook" in every way including the hardware; and
            3) it has the hallmark "tuft" poking out of the back of the eagle's head -- another textbook feature highlighted in Marc Garlasco's book.

So I'm real happy with my new addition.
            Best,
            JJ

So JJ is informed and happy. That's what it's all about.
Nice Heer flak JJ. I like it also And the seller is a real stand up guy too.
              Congrats.

Thanks Frank. You're right as always! William Kramer was my seller, and he is definitely a stand-up guy, and a total straight shooter. I'd happily buy badges from William any day.
                Best,
                JJ

                  Hi,
Looking at the 2 badges they must be from different dies, how many different dies were there?
From looking at different ones it appears that the ones with the tuft at the back of the head all appear to be the horizontal plate type and the vertical plate type appear to be more like the NS type in detail, compare the gun.

Can you say where? The zinc ones look identical to me - even have the same double rivets on the base.

                      Hi,
The bands and the horizontal lines on the gun appear more prominent on the vertical plate one also the acorns and oaks are clearer ,unless it was stamped using a new die earlier in production than the other.or did they use the same die as the NS version. They could have fined the head tuft off on earlier ones .
