    Gab f.o. for review

    Hello everybody,

    here is my gab with mm f.o., which I own for 20 years. The surface is a bit rough.

    The hinge/pin is very strange for me. It´s Buntmetall and looks like a Wurster hinge. What do you think? Everything original, a badge with a repaired hinge or a completely fake?

    I think that it is Solid Zinc "incuse" maker mark 1.13.2

      It´s not easy to see on my pics, but the maker mark comes out of the badge.

      I wasn´t able to find other pics of f.o. gabs with this kind of hinge.

        Height: 5 cm
        Width: 4 cm

        The weight is 20 Gramm.

          Correction:

          Height: 52,7 mm
          Width: 42,1 mm
          Weight: 24 Gramm, perhaps a little bit more (the scale only shows whole numbers).

            Perfectly fine example of FO. The hinge is indeed very interesting and does not looks like a replacement to me at all!

                Hi Thorsten,

                For me a perfectly fine original as well. The block hinge is not something I have seen on an FO GAB before, however the same exact hinge was used by Orth on some of their IABs and PABs, so its logical to think that this variation would be found on their GABs as well.
