    IAB silver L/51

    Hello all,

Here's a silver IAB I picked up in the mid 1970's from a place call The Military Shoppe in Lakewood CA. Upstairs was a model and hobby shop and the basement was called "The Bunker". Back then the entire front was still a nice silver wash and about 50% of the rear. Now, it's hard to tell that it ever was.

The residue on the top beneath the hinge is adhesive from some Velcro I used to mount it in a shadow box.

    Thanks!

    Hi Larry,

Another fine original, this one was made by Wiedmann. Too bad about the faded finish, that tends to happen to some later-war badges like this from makers that used sub-par zinc as the base metal. Consequences of a wartime economy, but still a perfectly fine original.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
