Attributed to the maker RK or Rudolf Karneth, nice finish on yours also comes with a ball hinge setup too.

          Hi Eric,

Its made by "RK", from Gablonz as the others have said. We aren't entirely sure who the maker is behind the initials RK, its possibly Rudolf Karneth but could also be Robert Kriesel. We do know for sure that its a Gablonz-based maker based on the reverse hardware setup.

          Great looking GAB.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

What you have is, as the guys have noted, an early war, lustrous RK GAB. My opinion is that the Gablonz-based maker was Rudolf Karneth, and not Kriesel, but some legitimate debate persists on this point. What we do know about this maker is that they massively poured out huge numbers of zinc GABs. Indeed RK of Gablonz (in Czech) was one of the most prolific GAB makers during the war, if not the most. But the vast majority were zinc. Yours is different. Yours is a relatively scarce early example made of nickel silver and finished beautifully with mirror polishing to highlights and intact frosting.
Great find and a keeper for sure.

Imo this is a zincer, not nickle silver
