    Five in square

    Hello guys,
Reading the Heukemens's book of the general assault badge i saw in the page 429, this particular badge with a "five in square". The author wrote that the stamp probably is a distribution mark or a control stamp.
I want to ask to the community if are there some recently news about this stamp..

    Best regards
    Nicola

Times ago Baldes sold this spange with, in my opinion, a very similar or the same fiive in square.
I never studied this type of badge, but i can't recognize the maker...
What you thought? are the same stamp? Who is the maker of the spange? and what the five mean ?
The pics of baldes's site arent' good, but i saved only them.

    Best regards
    Nicola

I have this mark on an EK 1 and have also seen a 3 and a 43 in a square too. So info I have received was it could be some form of acceptance or control stamp. TPK

          Nicola,
I only collect Heer badges but I have seen many instances of marks that have no connection to the actual badge maker. PABs, IABs, and GABs all have been found with various marks such as you have shown. We have very knowledgable collector/moderators who should pursue facet as they love this sort of thing. Go get'em Tom and Norm...

I belive it was Tom that asked to put the photo of my 43 in box marked Army Heer Flak badge in the database. The badge currently resides in my repro case for study. I also have the 5 in box EK 1, I can bring them to the MAX show if there is any interest to photo for WAF. TPK

              TPK,
Was the flak badge deemed a fake?

Chet, I will have to check it was a flat back and I think so. Thats why I belive it was put in the repro mount. Also I think the lower numbers like 3 and 5 have been seen on other badges but could not tell you if those badges are good, will have to check through the search function. TPK

Many thanks Chet and TPK for your helps of the numbers in square,
so if this is a control stamp what about the spange? Can someone identify the manufacturer?
