    CCC GWL Bronce - Aluminium . . .

    Hi Gents,

recently we got from a private estate this CCC. Maker is GWL, Weight is about 14,1 Gramm. We checked the material with an x-ray system and it is devinitly aluminum. A year ago we bought the Documents from this soldier, now they discovered all the medals and badges wrapped in a sort of paper you use for food. The bronce finish on the front is perfect, the backside has light patina, backplate is deep black.
I would like to hear some opinions.

    Thanks
    Regards
    Dennis from Trave Militaria

          Hi Dennis,

GORGEOUS clasp!!!! Probably one of the rarest CCCs out there, including H&CL clasps! GWLs are uncommon in their own right, but then to find an aluminum one.....in bronze......is just amazing. Really nice find you stumbled upon, certainly the highlight of any CCC collection.

                Yes.

And, they were the only maker to use a different material other than zinc for the close combat clasp. The only exception is ofcourse the Gold Presentation clasps made from tombak by Juncker but I consider those a separate category.

Wonderful clasp. The only bronze aluminum version I can recall seeing...ever.

I've only seen a silver example, never a bronze. The silver example was stunning but I find this bronze far more so.

Wowza....I want one so bad! This would be the only Bronze clasp I would need if I had it...maybe a blue plate too.

This is probably the first one I have seen in 5 or so years. These are so rare it makes me green with envy to look at it.

                      Congrats!

                      Regards,

They also have copper coated zinc clasps.
