    Hi guys,

My friend Igor would like some opinions on this clasp of his, in particular the type of finish. Looks silver to me, but I don't feel the backplate is original to the clasp. Almost looks like cardboard rather than metal?!

    Thanks

    Tom

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I´ll agree on the backplate, that´s not metal it´s some sort of cardboard or paper. Regarding the finish it looks like the clasp don´t have so much original finish left.

Thanks Andy. I actually think there is alot of silver finish remaining, its just a little faded but when you look at the closeup of the obverse you can see lots of finish.

Wouldn´t it be easy to test the material? With a pin, for example.
