Recent Antique Store Find

I recently picked up the Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge at a local antiques store on my lunch hour. The price was very cheap, as it is missing the hinge, pin and catch, so I grabbed it. I would like opinions as to originality. My feelings are that it may be a post-war repro but I'm not certain. Please help if you can with any comments. Thanks.

Hello David,

I agree with Frank. Your badge is original. Here are two examples of the same badge as the one you posted. The maker of these is still unknown. The badge on the left has the separate eagle plate attached, while the one on the right has either lost the eagle plate, or it never had one put on in the first place.
