This is my first post, so greetings to everyone. I would appreciate some opinions on this badge please. I had no idea that they were so heavily reproduced. The obverse of the badge has a strange finish in places, almost like a scratched effect (gun butt). The dimensions are; height 62.40mm, width 47.58mm, weight 27.8 grams.

The finish looks very odd to me, I get the feeling that its refinished. Or at a minimum heavily cleaned as Ralph says.

I agree with Ralph and Tom...the finish has a strange look.
Part of this could be your pics.
I would guess this one once had a frosted-white finish over the silver plate base coat and has been aggressively cleaned at some point.
