Hello All,
I picked up this GAB about a month ago and after going through about 30 threads I still don't know if it's real or a $20 lesson. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also this is my first post so hopefully I didn't mess anything up

Firstly, welcome to the forum, you found the right place if you are interested in 3rd Reich Combat & Qualification badges.

Unfortunately, your GAB is a well known fake. Its a copy of the Steinhauer & Luck design, here is an original in comparison.

I would recommend becoming an Association Member, for just a little more than what you spent on this fake you will have access to the best database of originals and fake badges on the internet. You could have compared this badge to the Database of GAB originals found here and would have seen that this one is a poor cast copy in comparison to the originals:
