Panzer Assault Badge, silver and bronze

    Hi,

What do you think about these two badges? What would be a reasonable price to pay for them in your opinion? (im not a experienced collector).

The information provided by the auction site describes that the bronze badge is W. Deumer and the silver badge is a B.H. Mayer. Is this correct?

    Regards / OME

      Hi OME,

The bronze PAB is an original Deumer, that is correct. The catch might be a replacement. There are some Deumer examples with a factory-made catch like this which they started using after their catch-crimping tool malfunctioned. But this one looks odd to me so I am not sure its the correct factory-applied catch. Looks more like a replacement to me, so I wouldn't pay retail for it in that case.

The Silver PAB is indeed attributed to Mayer, but in likelihood its really Schickle. Either way, its been modified with a screwback and there is no way to be sure when that was done. It definitely didn't leave the factory that way so I wouldn't pay retail for this one either, its really just a messed-with original.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thank you for the replies. I do not have access to any other pictures at the moment, other than the two i have already provided.

I had mixed feelings (and still have), but i actually went ahead and placed a bid on these two badges, and to my supprise i won. The pair went for 315 USD. I will take a couple of pictures of the catch, and the screwback to post here for further review when i have them on hand.

And then the hatch on the bronze badge.

Anything else to say about these pieces?
