    IAB Portrait

    Hi Guys

    A new portrait for my collection featuring an attributed Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid IAB. The badge is the hollow zinc example and is (as I refer to it) the Type 3 design.
    Notice the die flaw between the kar98k and the sling.

    Another interesting feature is the date stamp on the reverse - 28 APR 1945.
    With the later war tunic, subdued breast eagle and litzen and the sweater under the jacket; this is the type of IAB I would expect to see.

    I like the portraits with the badge in wear...especially when you can identify which one it is.

    And the close-up.

    Notice the hardware/badge pin must have broken off as this recipient had to sew it directly to the tunic pocket.

                  Fantastic portrait, nice to see the krim shield and east medal ribbon bar.

                  Your close up shows great detail and how the thread is holding the IAB on in several places.

                  Don't forget that the date stamp is when it was developed, not necessarily when it was taken.

                  Thanks for showing, love to see portraits with badges in wear

                    Thinking further about the date, I guess in those days, with portraits, I guess they often had the pic taken and developed at the same time?
