      Hello,

Looks to me like a good Close Combat Clasp by Friedrich Linden. I've never seen one of these with such an over-abundant use of solder around the hinge, so possibly that has been reattached. It also looks like the end of the pin was pointed. The pins on these typically have a blunted end.

      Best regards,
      Tom

        Hi Ascot,

A fine original FLL clasp for me as well, but I am pretty certain the hinge has been resoldered. While FLL is reknowned for their sloppy soldering, the amount we see here is more than usual and it also looks newer with no bronze finish on it which makes me think its been resoldered sometime in the past. The pin looks original, but as Tom says its been sharpened, quite possibly by the recipient but impossible to know for certain.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

          I agree with both Toms.

            thanks guys for the feedback.
does the resoldered hinge influence on the price?

            thanks

For me it does affect the price. In general, I think it cuts the value of a badge in half, but really its up to the individual collector.

I agree definitely a hinge repair. I would also say half value for repairs like these.
                Kind regards,
                Giel
