GAB 25-100 question

For the higher numbered GAB, the center eagle was "blackened".

Was this a flat black color? Like a basic primer, no luster, flat black?

Now why didn't I think of that??

Most of what I found said "black", "blackened" or "dull". The photos I've seen make it to be pretty much flat black. I'm gonna run with that, but was just seeing if anyone else with a better handle wanted to chime in first.

The colour on numbered ASA's eagles is not completely flat. This can also vary slightly with each maker & grade. As well as when it was produced. Hope that helps a bit. Stewy
