Opinions please on Silver CCC from vets son

    Hi guys,

I’d like to get some opinions on this silver CCC I acquired some time back from a US WWII vets son. The story is his father was a Staff Sgt. in the 103rd Infantry Div., the 85th Infantry Div., and the 45th Infantry Div. His group landed at Marseille, France in Oct., 1944 and advanced through Eastern France to the German border, and then South through Western Germany into Bavaria and the Austrian Alps. The 45th liberated Dachau Concentration Camp on April 29, 1945. The 103rd captured elements of the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division, Gotz von Berlichingen near Innsbruck, Austria in early May, 1945. He found some German medals in abandoned houses and others were taken from captured German soldiers. He returned to the U.S. in Sept., 1945.

Hopefully this CCC is the real thing. With all the high quality fakes out there these days it’s hard to know for sure. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance for your input.

Just a side note: It doesn’t show up in the photos but the clasp has “polished” silver highlights in certain areas.

    Best regards,

    Eric

      Hi Eric,

No doubts about that one, perfectly fine original AGMuK clasp in great condition. Lovely white-frosting remaining in nicely worn condition. The AGMuK makers had several different variants but almost always used a high quality zinc base metal and good quality finishes that stand the test of time very well.

Yours is a known variant, most notable with the big headflaw next to the eagle's head.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
